Watercolour Butterfly

Good afternoon everyone,  Do you have any plans made for the weekend yet!  I'm having my hair done tomorrow morning, apart from that I'm not sure what else we have planned.

Yesterday I created a CAS watercolour  card, but I used the paint in the same manor I did the tombow pens a few weeks ago, the results were good and worked fine.

Watercolour Butterfly

What I did

  • Cut white card to size
  • Choose coloured watercolour paint and brush stroked onto a polly pocket
  • rubbed the polly pocket over the white card, I did this several times before I was happy with the colour
  • Using a Square punch I cut 4 x squares
  • I embossed the white card (not sure what the folder is called)
  • Using the same method, I printed the butterfly, then rubbed the polly pocket over the butterfly several times to get the colour I wanted
  • Using glue dots I added the 4 squares to the embossed card and then the butterfly to the top
  • I then mounted the embossed card to another piece of bigger white card

Follow your dreams they know the way

Good evening everyone!

How is your week going so far, mine is going well after a truly wonderful weekend.
My dad went to Gretna Green to get married and I had the honor of being his Woman of Honor (best man)  I did a speech and there were lots of tears remembering those that couldn't share in with the celebrations and those who had passed on that we wanted to be there, that sort of thing.   But never the less we had a great day and the setting was just magical.  We took some photo's and I believe someone had a video of which I've yet to see.  To make the day extra special I did my version of my dad favorite song Proud Mary all in all the girl did good, well I thought i did well and I know that my dad was proud of me!

I have a few photo's that I got someone to take with my camera phone, although the pictures aren't that brilliant I love them.

Me and my dad

Me before my hair had been done

I love these photo's A very happy day indeed, my dad's bride Mel looked absolutely stunning, she had 4 bridesmaid's and the theme colour was Blue soooo beautiful, photo's of the happy couple to follow soon.

Now onto my work for today.  It's taken a few days to create this Art Journal page and I'm so happy with it.

Follow Your dreams they know the way

Peony Tag!

Good evening everyone!  Did you all have a good weekend.  I hope so.  This evening I am sharing a Tag I have made with one of the gorgeous images I won from Little Blue Button called Peony.

Peony Tag

What I did

  • I created a Tag 5" x 3" and scalloped the top edge.
  • I then made a pin wheel 4" x 4" fold from corner to corner and cut each of the 4 corners to just above the center.  On each triangle fold the right corner into the middle and glue down continue doing this for all the right hand corners seal the middle to hide the corners with a flower or a gem or whatever you want to.
  • Hand made flowers scrunched up from white paper
  • Image from Little Blue Button - Peony coloured using Faber Castell pencils.
  • The pin wheel and the flowers, tag have been coloured using different duel tip watercolour markers which you scribble onto a piece of plastic I used a polly pocket, once you get the desired colours spray a little water which reacts with the pens then take the polly pocket turn over and add to your work rubbing the plastic over your work, the effects are beautiful.
